Nathan Teklemariam and Carson Rinehart were overheard smashing the windows of a vehicle and cackling about the haul they were making off with – as well as the location of the spot they were going with the stuff. What they didn’t do is make sure they weren’t butt dialing the cops. A cruiser was quickly dispatched to chase the men down. Police found the stolen items and cuffed the men – adding insult to injury by telling them exactly how they were found.
Nicholas Wayne Schwabenland called a cab, but had trouble giving the cabbie directions to his home. The driver got frustrated and pulled over, demanding payment for his wasted time, only to find out that Schwabenland was flat broke. The cabbie then called cops and tried to get the passenger to have a friend come to the scene with some wheels and some cash, but Schwabenland wouldn’t go for it. The officers took him to a hospital, where he peed himself before stripping off his clothes – and then urinated some more in a bed before being dried off and sent back to the pokey.
Michigan State Police responded to a break-in that happened at the Chamberlin’s Inn at about 7:35 a.m. Police were looking for a woman that allegedly stole food, dishes, silverware and other goods from the inn. Police didn’t have too look too far though because when they arrived at the inn, they found the 42-year-old suspect, whose name has not been released, locked inside her own car right outside of the inn. She had lost her keys and the door lock latches inside were broken. She was arrested for home invasion and larceny and was taken to the Mackinac County Jail.
