NHL:  The Philadelphia Flyers (13-15-1, 27 pts) one-upped the New Jersey Devils (13-9-6, 32 pts), 2-1 in a shootout.

World Baseball Classic:  Puerto Rico (2-1) knocked off the United States (1-2), 4-3 to advance to the semifinals.
