Police in Charlotte, N.C., said a woman called authorities and had her juvenile son arrested in their home for stealing her Pop-Tarts! The police report said the boy was placed under juvenile arrest on a charge of larceny/misdemeanor. WCNC-TV said the woman, whose name was not reported, refused to comment at her home, choosing to instead shout an obscenity and slam the door.
Investigators said a 56-year-old woman told police she was cleaning up at her son’s bar in Artana when two men broke in, attacked her and took two days’ worth of profits. Police said inconsistencies in the woman’s story made them suspicious. The woman eventually confessed and said she had lost all of the profits in a gambling machine and used facial injuries from a tumble down the stairs to back up her false robbery report. The woman was arrested on a charge of simulating a crime for financial gain.
Natasha Myers was arrested on charges of criminal mischief after a surveillance tape caught her carving the image of a man’s twig n berries into the hood of a Kia owned by a 63-year-old woman. Myers didn’t choose the car randomly, as proven by a post-it note she glued alongside her artwork, saying, “Hey I keyed your car. You didn’t stop for pedestrians as is law. Since no cop to enforce a ticket, this should cover the cost of your fine. Have a good day” She did about $1,200 worth of damage to the car – which she probably doesn’t have, since she hasn’t been able to post the $5,000 bail needed to spring her from jail.
