Pineapple pileup

A Jersey City, NJ, warehouse worker somehow survived—and never even lost consciousness—after being buried by 1,500 pounds of pineapples yesterday. The 39-year-old was in stable condition last night, the Star-Ledger reports. Other than calling it an “industrial accident,” the paper had no further details on what caused the pineapples to fall.  Scott Simon, unintentionally dialed 911

Police in Florida said they arrested a man twice within a 12-hour period.  Brian Blake Bienvenu, 24, of Delray Beach, Fla., began his alleged crime spree when a security official at Highland Beach Club observed him parking his vehicle in the nude, police said. A woman in Russia says she was hypnotized into giving $40,000 in cash to two other women. The woman told Moscow police that the two ladies approached her after she had taken the money out of her bank account, and that they somehow used hypnotism to convince her to give them the cash to break a spell that had been placed on her husband and son.The spellbinding suspects could face up to 10 years in jail if caught.

An Australian mother said her 3-year-old son found some eggs and was pretty excited about it so she gave him a container to put them in.  He hid the container in his closet, Donna Sim his mom said she opened the closet and discovered were eastern brown snakes, one of the deadliest kinds of snakes. The snakes were taken to the Billabong sanctuary, where wildlife rangers said they will be released into the wild.

Wolverhampton, England, police said 2 men, ages 20 and 27, allegedly attacked a man at the Babylon Bar and allegedly assaulted a second man just before 1 a.m. outside the Civic Hall. Police said they arrested the two men near the scene of the second attack. The catch was they dressed as Santa’s little helpers. The “elves” were released on bail while police continue their investigation.  No word on if Santa let them back  on the sleigh.
