A Canadian man who’d just arrived in Barrie, Ontario, after a 12-hour bus ride from Montreal whipped out his cell phone after disembarking and called 911 to report a missing person – the woman who stood him up after meeting him online and suggesting they hook up! The man said that he’d been chatting with the gal for some time and thought it was time for them to take their relationship to the next level – so he hopped aboard the bus for the 385-mile jaunt. When there was no sign of her at the terminal, he freaked out and called 911, asking that cops track down the woman in question. When the dispatcher reminded him that 911 wasn’t really the right place to call for romantic advice, he became even angrier, but he wasn’t arrested – just warned to go someplace for the night to cool off.
The good news: US border agents have seized some 14,151 pounds
of marijuana. The humorously depressing news: The 26-year-old man busted with the pot figured it was no big deal to just drive some 600 bales of it across the US border in a tractor-trailer. Agents at the border crossing in Nogales, Ariz., seized the pot, worth some $12 million, last week. The driver is being investigated by immigration and customs authorities.
A woman attempted to rob two banks in suburban New York City demanding $5000! The TD Bank teller took it in stride and “directed the suspect to a customer services representative.” She actually went and sat down at the representative’s desk while the first teller pushed an alarm button. The robber fled from the building and about 30 minutes later visited another TD Bank branch nearby, this time claiming she had a bomb when she demanded cash. The teller complied and handed her the cash in a bag that contained a dye pack that exploded and covered the fleeing woman with ink! She was later seen dumping the money and police say, “She didn’t do well.”
