A French out­doors­man found out just how good his hunt­ing dog was after the pooch shot him while they were out try­ing to bag a deer. The gen­tle­man, iden­ti­fied only as Rene, had to have his right hand ampu­tated when the dog, excited at the prospect of get­ting up close and per­sonal with Bambi, lunged at his shot­gun and dis­charged it, pretty much oblit­er­at­ing the appendage. Rene, who had to be rushed to the hos­pi­tal, was left in pain, but didn’t point fin­gers at the pup. He told a reporter, “It wasn’t the dog’s fault. He’s adorable. I should have left the safety on.”

32-year-old Bobby Clif­ford Smith III of PA is fac­ing theft charges for allegedly try­ing to exchange a toi­let at Lowe’s home improve­ment store. Smith was caught on store sur­veil­lance video enter­ing the store, grab­bing a toi­let from a shelf, and then tak­ing that very same toi­let to the return line to exchange it for more than $600 in gift cards.  His plan was flushed when police were called and he was taken to jail – where he is being held on bail.

A Min­neapo­lis woman is fac­ing a mar­i­juana charge after a city police inves­ti­ga­tor says he got a ran­dom text mes­sage say­ing “Got your greens, let me know what you need.” A crim­i­nal com­plaint filed in Hen­nepin County Dis­trict Court stated the inves­ti­ga­tor mes­saged back that he wanted to buy $100 worth and set up a meet­ing.  He and Najileh Cekoc Sen­g­bloh, 24 met and she was arrested.  Sen­g­bloh allegedly told police she had placed an ad on Craigslist look­ing to sell some mar­i­juana and had tried to con­tact one of the num­bers she had received in reply, appar­ently get­ting the investigator’s num­ber instead.
